Krait is a large aqautic mutant and the main antagonist in The Gyre.

Personality

Krait was a violent leader with a strong hatred for the Judges, stemming from their oppresion of mutants. He seemed to see himself as somewhat of a saviour, but would let other die to achive his goals.

History

After years of oppression, Krait gathered together a small army and attempted to lead an invasion on Sov-Sec at the remains of Mega-City Two. Having learnt of his plans, ex-Judge Doya Meekins attempts to warn the Judges before being found out, managing to send out a distress beacon to Mega-City One before being captured and crippled by Krait.

Judges Dredd and Joyce are sent to investigate after receiving the beacon and quickly find Krait after interrogating one of his crewmen. They attempt to take down Krait and rescue Meekins, but things quickly go wrong as Dredd is captured and Joyce gets shot with a harpoon and knocked into the water. Krait gloats over Dredd, telling him of his plan to use a Weather Control unit attached to his ships mast to take the stormy weather of the Gyre with them as they invade Sov-Sec, and using recovered Lawlord weaponry.

Just as Krait and his crew set off, interference from Judge Joyce causes Krait's barge to crash and allows for Dredd to escape and begin a fight with Krait, culminating in Krait being stabbed through the jaw with a broken pole. With his defeat his plan is put to a stop and the Weather Control unit is shut down and the storm surrounding the Gyre finally comes to an end.
